In the ruthless world of the art trade of the plastic arts, Josephina (Zawe Ashton) accidentally finds a real treasure: after dying, an old clandestine artist leaves behind a wonderful collection of paintings with the express wish that these were destroyed after his death. Determined to take good income from them, Josephina begins to expose them in the eyes of some of the heavyweights of the industry that surround her, including her boss Rhodora (Rene Russo), the art critic (and occasional lover) Morf (Jake). Gyllenhaal), and some of the most voracious art collectors on the market, such as Bryson (Billy Magnussen) and Gretchen (Toni Collette). Although the artist’s work achieves the admiration of the public, it also awakens something imperceptible and sinister that threatens to punish those who have benefited from their work.
