Bridget (Kelly O’Sullivan) decides to have an abortion at the beginning of the summer just as she manages to get a job in a Chicago suburb after spending several months desperate to find one. Your task is to take care of Frances, a six-year-old boy. With little time to recover, she soon finds herself having constant problems with the little boy and especially with her mother. However, as time passes, Bridget begins to feel that she is part of a family, and that much of the problems she goes through are related precisely to this fact.
