A teenage girl (Rugaard) is raised is an underground shelter by a mother robot who has been designed to repopulate the Earth in the event of a catastrophe. The link between the two is threatened when the young woman takes home a bloodied stranger (Swank) who questions everything that her robotic mother has taught her about the outside world. The teenager will have to find out which of the two tells the truth in order to make a decision regarding her future.
