After a banal accident in her village, the eight-year-old Shula of witchcraft is accused. After a short trial she is found guilty, detained and banned to a witch camp in the middle of the desert. There she undergoes a ceremony where she is initiated into her new life as a witch. Like other residents, she is tied to a ribbon that is attached to a tree. She is told that she should never break it, because then she will turn into a goat.
